"Emily is a 10/10 Wedding Coordinator and we simply could not have gotten through our day without her. Emily is so organized, professional, engaging and diligent. We hired Emily and her team for Day-of coordination and I couldn't recommend her more. It started with an intake and overview with Emily prior to the wedding where we mapped out the entire day. She gave us structure, templates, ideas, and made the whole process extremely smooth. On the day, Emily and her team were 100% present, organized and took so much of the mental load off of us. I didn't have to touch my phone once, and I know our best man/ maid of honour both got to enjoy their time as Emily had their back managing all logistics every step of the way. Emily, thank you a million times! I would hire Emily again in a heartbeat for any wedding or event."

This coupled with the pre-wedding week schedule and all of her templates and tools kept things running smoothly. Emily, thank you so much!! Your experience, knowledge and kindness made our day as beautiful as we had hoped!”

FAQ

How long have you been planning weddings?

Emily Decloux has been an event planner since 2011, pastry chef since 2009, and began The Joy Factor in 2023 after she realized just how much she loved planning weddings! Even though all events require the same level of attention to detail, not all events require the same level of joy in their execution, and after planning so many corporate events for years, Emily decided to make the switch to help more couples to truly enjoy the process of wedding planning, and actually have fun on their wedding days!

What do you charge for your wedding planning services?

At The Joy Factor, we have several levels of service which you can read about in more detail here. Below is a quick breakdown for where our pricing starts for each service:

  • Day-of coordination: $1500 + HST
  • Month-of management: $2000 + HST
  • 3-6 month management: $4000 + HST
  • Full planning starts at: $6000 + HST
  • 3 hour planning call: $300 + HST
What kind of couples do you work with to plan their weddings?

At The Joy Factor Weddings and Events we LOVE to work with couples who are planning unique weddings that are authentic to them. This can range from full weekend extravaganzas, to short and sweet evening affairs. We don’t specialize in any specific religious traditions, but we do specialize in creative plans. Dinner before the ceremony? Let’s do it! Traditional elements? Absolutely! As long as it’s authentic to you.

Is it too late to start working with a wedding planner?

Our motto? It’s never too late! Perhaps you’ve gotten to a certain point where the tasks are just starting to get too overwhelming, or little pieces are slipping through the cracks. Maybe a vendor has fallen through, and you need help to create a new plan. At The Joy Factor Weddings and Events, we want to meet you where you’re at in the planning process.

What is your wedding planning process like?

We don’t have a specific framework for planning because we believe every couple is unique and requires a bespoke plan. We do use specific tools to bring each wedding we work on, to a place that the plan is clear and easy to execute. We begin with a kick off call to assess where you’re at in the planning process, we find all of the gaps and items that have slipped through the cracks, and then we build out various timelines, tracking sheets, and to do lists that feel manageable in the timeframe you have available.
