Is it too late to book day-of wedding coordinators in Toronto?

by

If you’re getting married in 2026, chances are your wedding date is literally right around the corner, and you might be thinking, is it too late to book day-of wedding coordinators in Toronto (or other areas)? Spoiler: NO! But here are some things you might consider if you’re still on the fence about booking a day-of wedding coordinator for your 2026 wedding.

Yes, the earlier you book the better, but our calendars aren’t completely booked!

If you want the assurance that you’ll have a day-of coordinator booked for your wedding early on, we will happily book you in months in advance, even up to a year or more! While some couples like knowing that they have a coordinator a head of time, other couples are still on the fence (whether it’s budgetary or logistical) if they want to book a day-of wedding coordinator. And if that sounds like you, you might be feeling a little bit stressed out about whether all of the day-of wedding coordinators in Toronto or your area are completely booked or not!

My recommendation? Reach out to us and see whether we have availability or not. Most often, day-of coordinators and wedding planners know other planners in our areas, and we can refer you to someone if we aren’t available. At the end of the day, we all want you to have a joyful wedding day, so I definitely encourage you to reach out – even if we’re only a week away from your wedding day!

A day-of wedding coordinator is not the same as a full wedding planner

On occasion I have couples book calls with me, who are looking for month-of or day-of wedding coordination, and they’re wondering whether we’re just starting the wedding planning process later. While there are full service venues that come completely decorated with an officiant that can be planned within a month (or a week), if you need your wedding planner to help you book vendors, or develop a design aesthetic, day-of or month-of planning isn’t going to cut it.

Here’s what I recommend: if you’re feeling stuck with your wedding plans and things are coming up fast but you feel like nothing is done, book a call to see if a wedding planner can offer mini-planning sessions. At The Joy Factor we offer these types of sessions because we know that there’s no one size fits all when it comes to planning your special day! You’d be surprised how much we can cover in just 3 hours, and you’ll have a plan to get everything done by the end of it!

A day-of wedding coordinator can really take the pressure off

Many couples I speak with who are on the fence about hiring day-of wedding coordinators in Toronto are weighing the benefits with the costs of hiring me and my team, and they really want to understand the value of the service. Like, what are you REALLY getting from a day-of coordinator that your bridal party or venue coordinator can’t do?

Let me be clear, I love venue coordinators, but they’re coordinating venues, not your wedding. They’re not paying attention to whether your vendors have arrived on time, or if your flower girl has just ditched her dress in favour of her sweats and needs some extra convincing to get ready. And your bridal party? They’re honestly going to be focused on getting ready, looking good, and enjoying themselves (with a few exceptions of course).

And what about you? You’ve made the plans, you’ve hired the vendors, you know what’s supposed to happen and when, but are you truly going to be happy about the fact that during your cake cutting you need to be telling the DJ where to set up? My guess is that you’d rather be in the moment with your new spouse!

So instead of having a burning thought in the back of your mind about whether stuff is actually getting done or not, you can really take a lot of pressure off yourself if you take the leap to hire a day-of wedding coordinator.

Am I a little biased? Heck yeah! But I also did all the planning and coordinating on the day of my wedding, and I can tell you, it’s a massive commitment! So prepare and plan for what YOU want to commit to for your wedding day.
