About
Toronto Event Planner Emily Decloux
Ever since I (Emily) was a kid, I’ve been obsessed with watching wedding shows on T.V. Seeing the couple planning their weddings, watching as professionals would swoop in to save the day, and then finally appreciating all of the tiny details coming together, was, in my little kid mind, perfection.
After studying Event Management at Algonquin College in 2012, I set out into the corporate world to be an event manager, always thinking in the back of my mind “hm, one day I’d really like to plan weddings.” And finally, that day came when I planned my own DIY wedding in 2023.
I started planning in June, and by November 11, my perfect day was complete! And in that short five month period, I realized that I had totally fallen in love with wedding planning again, and it was time for me to start helping you plan yours!
I’m over the moon for planning events. I spent about eight years planning corporate events, big and small. In the last eleven years I also planned several feature and short film shoots, dozens live sketch comedy shows, and even a few milestone birthday parties or two! Rest assured, if you want something planned to perfection, I’m your planner!
I work with you to bring your big day vision to life, stress free.
Take it from me, the weirdo who DIYed just about everything for my wedding – your wedding day can truly be stress free! All it takes is the proper planning, backup plans, and an attitude of gratitude. Even when there are stressful moments leading up to the day, I’ll be in your corner reminding you of what the big picture is, and taking the tough work off your plate so that you can focus on what’s most important to you.
What is your process like?
We will have a 1-2 hour kick off virtual call (or in person if we can swing it in the GTA) where you tell me absolutely everything about your vision. I will guide you through questions that will help us land on our foundation which I will begin planning from. Depending on your package, I’ll help you source vendors, organize volunteers, and most importantly, create an incredibly detailed timeline for both parties getting hitched.
Do you work with DIYers?
Yes! I love to work with DIYers because I am a DIYer myself! If you’ve done the majority of planning your vendors, you would likely benefit from a 1 month or day of planning service, just so that you don’t have to actually do any work on your big day, you can just enjoy it!
How early should I start planning?
Depending on the scope of your wedding or event, the bigger the bash, the earlier you should start planning and executing. Our packages start at 16 months out from event day, however if you’re planning an intimate wedding you may only need a few months to make it happen. What it really comes down to is how much time and effort you have available to make it all happen! (Or you can just hire us to make it happen for ya!)
Do you help couples outside of Toronto?
Absolutely, yes! Just because I’m a Toronto event planner, doesn’t mean that I don’t love to help couples from all over the world! In fact, I am currently working with a couple in Winnipeg to plan their dream DIY wedding on their farm, entirely virtually!
What if my friends or family want to "help"?
This can be tricky, but I’ve developed some excellent strategies to keep all parties happy during the wedding planning phase, and on the day. You can always email me if you need help navigating a tricky situation with your new in-laws or your best man, blow off some steam, and come out of it with a plan of action you’re happy with.
What package do you recommend?
If you love to be hands on, you’d probably prefer the month-of or day-of service. If you like a more hands off approach, and would prefer to be the visionary of the day, I recommend starting with 8+ month package, up to 16 months.
Can you recommend vendors?
Absolutely! We have a growing list of preferred vendors that we love to work with. If we don’t have someone in the area we need to book, we’ll be happy to help with research and selection.
